After 17 years of neglect by Labour, Stourbridge’s roads and pavements were in a shocking state of disrepair.
Although there is certainly still a lot to be done, Conservatives have made a start in tackling the backlog in road maintenance.
This year, the Council will spend an extra £1.75million to mend 190 extra roads. Instead of just patching over the cracks, we will repair them with micro-asphalt. This costs more but lasts 5 years longer, making it cheaper in the long-term - “investing to save”.
The new Stourbridge interchange, replaces the old bus station. It will offer a better service for bus and train passengers travelling to and from the town.
- Make sure that Stourbridge gets its fair share of the extra £1.75million for road maintenance
- Lobby bus operators to keep the routes that local residents rely on
